Laser Cutters

Cut and engrave sheet materials with computer-guided precision.

Light as a tool

A laser cutter uses a focused beam of light to cut or engrave flat materials with computer-guided precision.

You send a design from software; the machine follows the path, vaporizing or marking the material along the way. It’s fast, repeatable, and excellent for clean edges and fine detail.

Typical projects include signs, boxes, ornaments, stencils, inlays, and engraved gifts in wood, acrylic, and other approved sheet goods.

At Rochester Makerspace, members train on CO₂ laser engravers and a fiber laser, then reserve time when they’re ready to run a job.
