The Makerspace laser area has three CO2 laser cutters for cutting and engraving chipboard, wood, acrylic, and other materials (which must be pre-approved by our area manager.) Two of our machines can accommodate materials as large as 17 x 27 inches, and the third machine can accommodate materials up to 23 x 39 inches.
We regularly offer Intro to Lasercutting classes for our members to learn how to safely and properly operate these machines. Upon completion of training, Makerspace members can get instructor approval to independently use our laser cutters. We periodically offer intermediate classes, such as Laser Etching Glass. These classes will appear on our Classes page when available.
