Introduction to the CNC Routers

June 23, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

This class will introduce new users to the RMS AVID 2’x2′ and 4’x4′ CNC routers.

The first portion of the class will include designing a project in Fusion360, and the remainder will focus on the setup and safe operation of our two AVID CNC routers (2’x2′ and 4’x4′). Note: Prior to the class, all students must register for Autodesk Fusion 360 for Personal Use. If you do not already have a license for this software, you can sign up here: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal. We ask that you do this anytime prior to the class date, and bring your username and password with you to class so you can log on.

Upon completion of this class each student will be asked to demonstrate they understand the subject matter and repeat the steps taught in the class. Successful students will be entered into the Makerspace record of members certified to use the equipment, and provided with a unique code to access the computers that control the routers.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to review the RMS 4×4 CNC Router Training Manual in its entirety prior to the class, and study the additional information provided in manual’s links.

This class has a minimum of two students and maximum of three students.
